Dairy Cattle Reproductive Ultrasound Training Course

This course covers ultrasonography fundamentals, including the physics of ultrasound and its specific applications in bovine reproduction. Participants review bovine reproductive system anatomy and physiology, with a focus on how to accurately interpret what this anatomy looks like in an ultrasound image, specifically the open uterus, uterine horns, and uterine infections, ovaries, cysts, corpus luteum, pregnancies, cotyledons, fetal anomalies and fetal demise.

Through guided hands-on sessions and live demonstrations, attendees will refine gynecological examination skills in dairy cattle. The curriculum includes identifying ovarian structures in ultrasound images and practical hands-on with live cattle to evaluate ovaries for corpus luteum and cysts. As well as finding and recognizing twins, a review of common bovine fetal anomalies and how to determine fetal gestational age and fetal demise.

Additionally, participants will master ultrasound machine functionality and controls, regardless of make or model, enhancing image interpretation proficiency and how to get the best images by adjusting key settings universal to ultrasound machines.

With 5 hours of theory in the classroom and 7 hours of live hands-on practice with cattle, this course ensures attendees emerge adept at dairy cow reproductive examinations using ultrasound and image interpretation.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Attendees gain a comprehensive knowledge of ultrasonography fundamentals and best practices including the physics of ultrasound and its specific applications in bovine reproduction, including universal machine functionality, key settings to master and image interpretation techniques regardless of ultrasound machine, make, model or brand.

Additionally, with the programs focus on practical skills development, attendees emerge adept at performing dairy cow reproductive examinations using ultrasound.

They will develop expertise in interpreting reproductive system anatomy in ultrasound images, focusing on the open uterus, uterine horns, and uterine infections. Additionally, attendees will refine gynecological examination skills for open uteruses and pregnancies at various gestational stages, and master the identification of ovarian structures, twins, fetal anomalies, and fetal demise.

Attendees leave the course with the skills to perform herd pregnancy checks and thorough reproductive examinations of dairy cattle including assessments of the open uterus, health of the uterus, pregnancies at all stages of gestation, evaluating viability of pregnancies, determining gestational age of pregnancies, evaluating ovaries for reproductive health and recommendations regarding fertility, how to find and confirm twin pregnancies, recognizing common bovine fetal anomalies and fetal demise.

Cancellation Policy

Cancelling One Month or More Before the Start Date:

If you need to cancel your course reservation at least one month before the scheduled start date, there will be a 25% cancellation fee deducted from your tuition fees. The remaining balance of your tuition will be refunded to you.

Cancelling Within One Month of the Course Start Date:

If you have to cancel your course within one month of the scheduled start date, a 50% cancellation fee will apply. However, the remaining balance of your tuition fees will be refunded to you.

Due to committed preparation and materials costs, if you cancel within 15 days of the scheduled start date, 100% of the tuition fees payable will be forfeited without reimbursement.
